Vantel Pearls is located in Foxboro, MA. The company imports and grows its oysters from Japan. Vantel Pearls states that when a customer opens an oyster they will find a white, pink, cream or black pearl. The company was established in 1986 and began direct selling in 1990. 

Vantel Pearls’ founding story begins in Hawaii, where the owners first saw oysters that contained pearls. The owners returned to MA and opened a small, seaside store on the island of Martha's Vineyard. Since they were raising a family at the same time, they took their business to home parties for more flexibility. The ( company launched from planning and into processing in 1987. Three years later, the company turned toward direct selling (1990).

With each piece of jewelry that is bought by customers, the company donates a percentage to agencies that provide shelter, counseling and education to families in need. Vantel Pearls sells jewelry. The company brings oysters into home parties where the party guest can open them and the distributor appraises the pearl inside, and then returns it back to the company where they will place it in the jewelry setting that the customer chooses. The pearls are graded on the size, color and luster. The oysters are grown in oyster farms in which they grow and secrete layers of pearly substance call nacre.

The setting in which the pearls are set are made of 14k gold, sterling silver and vermeil metals. Vantel Pearls makes rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and charms, ( pieces for men, pins, strands, body jewelry and collections.

To join the company, distributors must purchase a starter kit. Distributors receive their first jug of oysters (which holds 30 oysters) upon purchasing a starter kit and each additional jug holds 50. Distributors have the opportunity to earn unlimited income.
