Founding Story
Tomboy Tools was started based on the frustration that women had with the hardware industry. The owners of the company felt that there were no hardware products made especially for women. Tomboy Tools offers educational demos that empower women to be confident homeowners. The company was founded by three women, Janet Rickstrew (Co-Founder/CEO), Sue A. Two years later the company launched in Canada and in 2005 in the United Kingdom. The owners started the company in a warehouse that was less than a 1,000 square feet and today they are operating out of a 10,000 square foot facility on Denver's West Side.
